Sometimes things aren’t as they seem.

Sometimes things arent as they seem.I have been practicing chiropractic for over 17 years, being in the West St. Paul area since 2002.  Over that many years, 1000′s of patients and lots of learning, I do know for certain that when it comes to the body, things usually aren’t what they seem.  Chiropractic works 100% of the time for its intended purpose, period.  But what seems to have been blurred by advertising, insurance and the such is what chiropractic’s purpose is…

At West St. Paul’s Unlimited Chiropractic its Advanced Chiropractic!!!

We will call it advanced chiropractic because we do pure principled chiropractic.  Chiropractic wasn’t discovered and developed to treat headaches, back pain, sleep disorders, TMJ, whatever your condition.  Chiropractic is about removing interference in the nervous system.  That’s it!!!  Your body have the power to heal, chiropractic just aids in the bodies ability to heal by providing a better functioning nervous system.  Headaches, back pain and TMJ are just symptoms, chiropractic doesn’t treat symptoms, we try and find the cause.

West St. Paul’s Unlimited Chiro Club is just chiropractic.

Using different therapies, ems, heat lamps, ice packs and many other modalities aren’t chiropractic, they were incorporated in part because insurance companies pay for them. Don’t get me wrong, they do have a purpose, but its not chiropractic.  So make sure and let your friends and family know we exist, and as always anyone’s first visit is only $10.  Unlimited Chiropractic is $49 individual, $69 Dual, and $79 for the entire family.  No contracts, no kidding..

I love MATH..

dr pfeiffer attemps math

This one isn’t that hard, I found it right away.  Jeez, how dum do they think I is anyway??

I love MATH..Some other math problems are a little less obvious as the one above.

I love MATH..Did you know that chiropractic can help with your blood sugar levels?  Bet you didn’t.  But yes, your blood sugar levels change based on the amount of stress your body has, now a bone out of place puts stress on your nervous system, that changes your blood sugar levels..  Now what about the bigger picture, if your pancreas controls your insulin levels, it a pretty important organ within the diabetes world.  What controls the pancreas???  The nervous system.  Did you know that less than the weigh of a dime’s pressure, your nerve function is decreased up to 60%.  So what happens if the nerve that controls the pancreas is pinched, chokes or irritated by a bone out of place in your spine?  YES, your pancreas doesn’t work as well at it should..  Granted eating 28 candy bars will greatly affect your health, the nervous system is the blueprint that truly makes it happen.  So chiropractors deal with what?  Diabetes?  No, not at all, we only deal with the integrity of your nervous system, we don’t treat headaches, back pain or any other condition, we simple restore the nervous system function so your body can do the healing.

Its quite simple kinda like the first math problem up above.. lol

Have a great day.

What about my headache??

What about my headache??LOL  Even though we don’t treat “conditions” in our office, we see many people complaining of headaches, back pain and other “symptoms”.  My 17 years of practice have seen so many different complaints that I won’t even begin to try and go through them.  One of my favorite questions I used to ask, was “Do you suffer from headaches at all?”  Now what used to make me laugh (maybe not very professional), but I did laugh anyway was many peoples response to that simple question.  They would answer me “Oh, just the normal ones….”  I still giggle about that.

PEOPLE, THERE ARE NO “NORMAL” HEADACHES!!!!!!!!

Headaches aren’t normal, they are a sign that something, somewhere is wrong.  I try to explain to people that I don’t get headaches unless I drink myself silly and then I know the reason for the headache.  Its not normal to be in pain, unless you are a JackAss star or maybe a stuntman, MMA fighter or professional football player.  Pain is always a sign the body has something wrong with it.  Thats why we have pain, to warn us.

So, in all my years of practice I have never found that a husband that has a pain in his ass can cause his wifes headache.  But I haven’t seen everything yet.  Remember, we are only $49 a month for unlimited care and new patients first visit is always only $10, which includes treatment if needed.  So be sure and tell your friends and family we are here for them.

Symptomatic Whack-a-Mole

Symptomatic Whack a MoleThe object of the carnival game Whack-a-Mole is to use a mallet to hit as many critters as possible when they pop up in random succession.  Trouble is, as you hit one mole, three more pop up and disappear before you can nail them all.  Whack-a-Mole is a perfect metaphor for how people are medicated today.  Unfortunately in this game you end up on a ton of drugs, for a bunch of problems, with no actual improvement in your health.

According to a NCHS Data brief by the CDC, over the last 10 years the percentage of Americans who took at least one prescription drug in the past month increased from 44% to 48%.  The use of two or more drugs increased from 25% to 31%.  The use of five or more drugs increased from 6% to 11%.   Yet despite taking all these drugs, the US embarrassingly ranks 37th among the world’s industrial countries when it comes overall health.

For Chiropractors, health is not defined by how many symptoms you can temporarily ‘whack away’ with drugs, but how well your body can adapt to its environment and heal under its own innate abilities.  You have more healing intelligence in your little finger than all the doctors and pharmacies in the world put together. Big Pharma doesn’t believe so, but Chiropractors do.  Keep your Nerve System clear and you won’t have to play their failing game. Common Sense???

Common Sense???Hey, its friday, wanted to drop in a post this pic before I start the weekend.  Common sense doesn’t really seem to apply to much in the way of health or law in my opinion.  Lawyers are great at taking common sense out of the equation, and sometimes that perfectly fine.  But in the health arena common sense doesn’t seem to exist at all.

Maybe its because drug companies can advertise their drugs in magazines, on TV and anywhere else we look.  I remember watching a commercial for a certain pill, not really sure what it did, but the people in the commercial were all so happy, healthy and having fun, I wanted the pill just to be like them.  Now thats their intention with those kinds of ads.  And to boot, the line at the end is a killer, “Ask your doctor if this is right for you.”  MMMMM, shouldn’t your doctor know whats best for you?  Really people!!!!  Asking your doctor, who BTW has probably gotten free trips, products and other things from the drug company in question already, is like telling your doctor you want to try this drug.

Now not all doctors are bad, but from what I have seen, they get their information from the Drug Reps (many of them very cute young woman), not by trial and error on the doctors part.  Enough ranting on drugs.  Lets take alook at some easier things we can control ourselves instead of drugs.

Years ago, I blew my knee out, through a clot in my leg and awoke that night to a leg that was as hard as cement.  Painful as hell, we made our way to the ER where they did their little work up on me, ht, wt, temp, pulse and blood pressure.  My blood pressure was high, this gentleman doctor came in and while I was laying there in pain, told me her was writing me a prescription for blood pressure meds because I suffered from high blood pressure.  My wife kinda knew what was gonna happen next, I didn’t punch this doctor, but he got a good lesson in how the body works from me in a tone that probably made him wet himself.

People, your body works, it really does if you take care of it.  If my blood pressure would have been normal, that would have meant my body wasn’t working right…Get it?  When you body perceives stress, your blood pressure rises as a normal response.  Thats how its supposed to work.  This “doctor” should have said something along the lines of when you are feeling better, make sure you check your blood pressure and make sure it returned to a normal level.

Cholesterol, blood sugars, blood pressure, pulse etc, these are all controlled by your nervous system, when you are stressed, these levels change as a normal response to it.  If they didn’t, then I would be worried!!!

Common sense usually is the right answer when you have all the knowledge needed to make the decision.  Gut instinct is also a good thing for survival.

Thanks for letting me rant a bit.

Peek a boo!!

Peek a boo!!I love this picture.  But how does it relate to chiropractic?  Well it seems to fit nicely into what most of the population does.  Takes pain medication.  I wrote awhile ago about that super smart pill that you take and it somehow diagnosis’s you and then goes to where you are hurt and fixes you all up.  Cool huh?

Well that pill doesn’t exist.  There are no smart pills!  Most pain medications work on your brain, not your pain.  They do work for their intended use, but many people think they work differently.  When you take a common pain medication, it goes into your blood stream, then travels to your brain where it numbs some area of it.  Now, your brain is numbed up, you feel less pain because the pain signals coming from you body are damped by the medication.

There are other issues I have with numbing the brain, if the brain doesn’t know how hurt you are, it can’t help you heal properly either.  But thats another chat altogether.

But the baby in the picture had no idea what was really happening when when he covered his eyes, just like many people don’t know how most medications work.

Thats all, I hope you did laugh at the picture, I loved it..

Sometimes we have to learn it for ourselves.

Sometimes we have to learn it for ourselves.I have been in practice for 17+ years now and for the first 15 years I spent everyday selling chiropractic to people who 1. didn’t know what it was, 2. didn’t think they needed it, and 3, didn’t want to pay for it.  I am a guy who is built on common sense, but seems my view on whats common is different than most peoples idea of it.  Take chiropractic for starters, your spine is just like any other part of your body, like your teeth for instance.  If you don’t take care of your teeth (brush and floss regularly) your teeth start to decay and rot. Well your spine does the same thing without proper care, in the medical realm its called degeneration, arthritis, joint pain…..

Some of my best clients had to learn things for themselves, over time, they began to understand and realize how well they felt when they left our office, they used to show up when their back hurt or their head ached.  Slowly they learned that with regular chiropractic care, their bodies felt better, they felt more alive, they were more active and less stressed.  I am the same way, I need to learn things for myself, granted farting in a wetsuit I can learn from a photo thanks.  But good life lessons are usually learned through trial and error over reading in a book.

When I started the Unlimited Chiropractic Club, my goal was to eliminate most of the obstacles people think their are to improving their health.  Imagine, spending only 5 minutes in a doctors office and leaving feeling satisfied, happy that your money was well spent.  Now add to that the fact that you were just driving by and decided to stop in without an appointment.  WOW!!!  For $49 a month, you have unlimited access to consults, treatment and even weight checks if you are trying to lose weight.  We never try to sell you anything, but rather educate you on your options and help guide you to make better choices based on what your needs are.  Nothing else.

So make sure to pass this along to your friends and family that might benefit and be sure they know that their first visit in our office is always only $10, and that includes treatment if needed.

Thanks and have a happy day from West. St, Paul’s Unlimited Chiro Club.

Get Real…. with Chiropractic

Get Real.... with ChiropracticAmerican TV personality and psychologist Dr. Phil doesn’t hold punches when it comes to advising his guests on living a more balanced, principled life.  So it should come as no surprise how he feels about Chiropractic.

On a recent show with personal Chiropractor and author Dr. Fabrizio Mancini, Dr. Phil touts the benefits he’s experienced from regular care.   “I’ve been seeing a Chiropractor a couple times a week for the past 10 years…”  And you can bet it wasn’t for a bad back.  Dr. Phil knows Chiropractic care goes beyond helping aches and pains.  It transforms your entire health and LIFE for the better – exactly what his show is all about.

If you’re frustrated with your current level of health, maybe it’s time to get real with a new paradigm shift.  As Dr. Fab says, “we are all born with a natural ability to heal.” Chiropractic care simply brings it out.  And if it’s good for Dr. Phil, it could be good for you too!  Repost Weekly Sticky via Dr. Pfeiffer and West St. Paul’s Unlimited Chiro Club.

West St. Paul Chiropractor drops insurance payments.

West St. Paul Chiropractor drops insurance payments. Why would this West St. Paul Chiropractor drop insurance payments?  Its simple, its too expensive to use your insurance.  With deductables, co-pays and limits, insurance practice is too expensive.  Chiropractic care works best with regular treatments, every research paper shows that, every chiropractor knows that.  But the third party payers are business’s and profits are important.  With rising healthcare costs, insurance companies started monitoring things, cutting services, limiting visits, etc..  In 2010 when my biggest insurance contract was due for renewal, they called and basically said, we are going to pay you less and you get to treat less too.  Well thats not easy for me to understand and accept.

So this West St. Paul Chiropractor dropped them.

So how do you survive if you aren’t billing insurance?  Well this West St. Paul chiropractor spent 4 months drawing up his idea, talking with lawyers, finding other doctors that were trying to make it work.  Result = Unlimited Chiropractic Club….  Unlimited Chiropractic Care for under $50 a month.  Dr. Pfeiffer created this model so that chiropractic was available for eveyone, affordable and convenient.  No appointments, no long-term contracts, no waiting, just show up, get treated and get on with your life.  With insurance patients, it was a hard sell every visit, calling them to remind them to come in for one of their 12 or so visits, that wasn’t my thing.   So I created the Unlimited Chiropractic Club.

West St. Paul Unlimited Chiro Club.

The club is based on volume obviously, at $50 a month per patient, we need to replace what insurance would have paid per visit, so more people = more money with this model of practice.  The clinic is set up to cater to patients when they show up, visits are typically 5 minutes from door to door.  Wait times are almost nothing.  With no appointments, if you are driving by, just stop in and get treated and get on with your life.  There is no reason to not choose West St. Pauls Unlimited Chiro Club, they have a $10 try before you buy special all the time too.  $10 to see how well our clinic model works and see for yourself why we are the premier choice for chiropractic care in West St. Paul.
